Realtek Manager Missing Options

knector

On my old PC I had Realtek HD Audio to, but on my new one I'm missing some options and my front panel buttons are gone in the manager, it no longer asks me which device I have connected to any of the six jacks on the back of the board, and the two front jacks don't work.
I have tried to install v1.78, 1,65, 1.85, 2.09, 2,14, and I have remembered to clean out the old drivers first. It's vista x64 I have and it's a Realtek ALC888 on a Asrock board.
I hope you have some suggestions, and thanks in advance.

Hello knector,

Make sure all your drivers are up to date, and your mobo drivers are installed.

Alright. I have another idea. Open up your case, and check to see that the connector from the front of the case is indeed plugged into the motherboard. If not, that is your problem.

Do you have a BIOS setting to enable HD audio?

Though you say everything's hooked up right, perhaps it'll help to re-install everything (hardware).

Be sure you have put in the Hi-Def audio connector on your motherboard, and not the AC '97.

Knector,

the audio is all onboard right? Or is it a separate card?

Yes it is all onboard, no sound cards are installed.
I had a quick look in the Bios but couldn't seem to find that setting, I will take a better look tomorrow.
I appreciate all of your ideas.

Thanks asautt and all your others.
I tried to set the front panel to Enabled instead of auto in the Bios, but that didn't help, then I remembered there was a setting more in the Bios, and that was HD audio as you said, so I set that to enabled instead of auto, then installed the driver again, and it worked :-)
So should I set the Front Panel option back to auto again in the Bios?
Thanks again.
