i installed the amd dual core optimizer for a game i downloaded now every time i run my computer normal it dispalys the blue screen of death. when i run the computer in safe mode and try to uninstall the amd dual core optimizer it dispalys the error message "the windows installer service could not be accessed. this can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personnel for assistance." also when i run the amd dual core optimizer in safe mode it immediately displays the blue screen of death. this problem has never happened before just after i downloaded the amd dual core optimizer. also i have tryed to restore my system to an eairlier point before i installed the amd dual core optimizer but i get the error message
the disk OS (C) has errors.
Windows has detected file system corruption on OS (C) you must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.
the when i click the check the disk for errors button it say " windows can't check the disk while it's in use?

Boot your system from the Vista disk and choose repair.

I suspect your BSOD are caused by system corruption rather than the program you have installed. It may just be coincidence that it happened at the same time.

Did the computer go through a disruptive shutdown while you were installing the optimiser (Power cut).

This can often cause problems with the HD.

I use that and haven't had any problems. You can disable it as a startup program as well with Win Defenders startup manager or msconfig.
You can schedule a checkdisk to run on bootup, check both options and reboot to start it. This tutorial will show you how, and also run SFC to see if it can help.
