WiFi looses connection

I'm using a ACER ONE and the WiFi looses the connection with the base. I'm trying unsuccessfully to grasp what's going on but no clue. The PC is running Vista Home Premium, 4go RAM, 320 HDD. Any help where to start ? BEst regards

The base = the router? if so, do you use any type of security to login to the router? WEP or WAP? if not, your wireless device might find a stronger signal from a nearby wifi and attempts to connect to it.

Thanks, the security is WEP with a key. This could be the other issue. i'm using a ACER with Vista, my wife is a Mac fan and the router is a Mac Wifi router, so i've been also wondering if the whole thing does not also relates to that ?

WEP is sometimes a pain on some wifi, I remember having a tremendous issues with both my kids's pc.

After switching to WPA the problems went away, but, I am not saying it was the solution though... perhaps worth a shot?
