| Vista Home Basic 32bit | Vista insallation error I recently inherited my friend's Gateway without a hard drive. Everything else works fine (as far as I know). I purchased a Western Digital 320GB hard drive and tried to install the copy of Vista that came with the computer. The installation runs normally until the end. When Windows is completing the installation, the computer restarts and Windows loads. Then I get an error message saying there was an unexpected shutdown during installation and that I need to restart the installation. This happens every time I try to install Vista. Sometimes, before the final restart, I get a warning message. Out of range H: 21.8GHz V: 63.0Hz. Not sure if those are the exact numbers, but they're close. Any hints or help would be much appreciated. |
