| vista home premium 32bit | Problem Reports is worth keeping a eye on I ask you to read though this has it may save you the trouble I have had. ![]() Like most I keep sending in the reports hoping to get solutions on the ever growing list and has at the time none seem to be of to much trouble till one day I could not get into my setting and could not some things or create a new admin. I tried all the usual stuff (like system restore and safe start) and nothing seem to work this was made harder with not having a admin account to work from so I got all the thing I needed saved them on a portable storage then did a clean install. ![]() This worked fine for a couple of days until I was locked out of my setting again this time I looked go through the reports and the following one was coming up a lot. ![]() Product EKDiscovery Module for Kodak AiO Printers Problem APPCRASH Date 14/02/2009 00:05 Status Report Sent Description Stopped working Problem signature Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: EKDiscovery.exe Application Version: 3.2.1.29 Application Timestamp: 48ef91f1 Fault Module Name: EKDiscovery.exe Fault Module Version: 3.2.1.29 Fault Module Timestamp: 48ef91f1 Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 00008c54 OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID: 2057 Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: 1017916247 The printer was installed weeks before the first problem started so I did not connect it to the problem at this point I uninstalled the printer at this point I was able to create another admin account but still was not able to go into mine then I sent a copy of this report to Kodak who replayed with the following instructions.- Confirm customer logged on as administrator - Click Start > Run > Regedit - Right Click on HKEY LOCAL MACHINE > Select permissions - Highlite "Everyone" and - Check under "Permissions for Administrators" and confirm Full Control and Read has a tick in allow - If no please tick the 2 boxes under allow and Click Apply. ![]() The point that I am up to is I can still not get into my account but able to run another admin account still getting the same report coming go through so I take a look back at permissions and the tick for has gone of again so I have uninstalled the printer and waiting to see if I can do anything else.![]() At this time I cannot get into my setting so had to set up another account and I do not have a printer although the printer has worked fine all though the troubles which is why I never liked it to the problem in the first place if I don't get help from this I hope it helps others. |
