Need help with a logitech mx 5500

hey guys here is my problems
1) when the comp boots i can use the keyboard to get into the bios ect but if say a chkdisk pops up and i want to cancel the scan i cant not 1 key on this board will stop the scan so i guess i am wondering why that is my old keyboard witch was a 4-5 yr old logiteck keyboard/mouse ir instead of blue tooth but it could let me oress any key to abort the scan so why wont the mx5500?

2) ok i am runniung set point 4.72.40 witch i think is the driver i should be using for 64-bit vista but when i first boot up the comp wont see the keyboard until i press a button on it and everytime i open media center to watch live tv thast it all the extra things the mouse/keyboard do like the scroll on the mouse or the zoom on the keyboard go dead if u try and pop up the logitech software thats running in the task bar that just makes it crash then i cant get iuit back till i reboot it will function as a normal mouse/kb but damm man for like 150 i exspected a lil more even more so because they market it like its totallly made for vista if anyone knows how or if i can fix this plzzzz let me know
