Not happy with vista!

Ok guys, I just bought Dell xps with vista 64. I was just getting to like it then I found out my HP inkjet 4200 won't work with vista. I spent 1hr on a driver download from HP to no avail. At first it was printing but you needed a magnifying glass to read the print, and I couldn't just have a selection print, oh no it had to print all 7 pages. Then I go to copy a movie and guess what? My DVD43 does not work with vista!
Does anything work with vista? Now I need to go out and purchase a printer that is compatible with vista, if there is such a thing!
Oh well it sounds like I am having a pms night.

as far as your printer is concerned, like roy69 stated, make sure you have the 64bit drivers for the printer. after the driver is installed, you should get a message during the installation process to print a test page and to set the printer up to your liking. if not, go into the printer properties and see if you can change any printer attributes to your liking. as far as dvd43, without knowing what it is or is not doing, try running the program as administrator. if that does not work, go to the start menu, right click the program, and select properties. once the properties box has opened, click the compatibility tab and check the box :run this program in compatibility mode for: (select win xp sp 2)
