Trying to upgrade drivers

I have installed full version of windows home premium. I am trying to reinstall drivers specific to my toshiba from their website for sound, wifi, display, etc. . Have downloaded said drivers, however, when I go to install by running the zip file; the install either fails or installs over the course of about 45 minutes to an hour. This doesn't seem right to me. I don't know what is wrong. Can anyone make some suggestions?

Try extracting the files from the ZIP and then run the expanded set.

hi first of all check the model number of the computer and which company computer are you using go to that company particular site and type the model number of the company and you get all the drivers and click on download the free drivers not downloaded the paid drivers or either to download the driver from the cd given by the computer vendor because drivers cannot be searched without the information of the computer so please collect the information about the motherboard and all graphics card than search on google or the product company website.and definitely you will get the driver .

Well, thank you. That is very good advice. However the drivers that I was installing were from the manufacturer of the computer and were device specific. I have had trouble with installing a driver from say windows update or even intel etc. and try to use what is available from the company who made the computer. I assume that is what you mean by company computer.

Thank you, yes, although the files were self-extracting.

Another thing to share. When trying to use msiexec.exe for the install two try to launch one for system and one for my local account. I only see this in task manager. If I end the one for the system account it gives me an error for the install saying that the msi app cannot be found and to check and see if product is registered or activated. Anyone have a clue?
