Epson Perfection 2480 Photo driver

New to Vista, made the switch yesterday. System is stable, one small problem. Per the title of the thread, I'm having trouble getting the scanner to work under Vista Home Premium x64.

Perused Epson's site, no drivers are apparently available. The scanner is older, say 5 years old at least, but it does work. I'd hate to just throw it out.

Anyone know of a work-around?

I did install that driver last night, no go. I did not try the compatibility mode option, didn't even know it existed (till today). Will give it a try. :D

Hmmm....that's odd; I have an Epson Perfection 2400 scanner and it has Vista x64 support, yet the 2480 doesn't.

Call Epson and ask why your scanner has no 64-bit drivers, yet the 2400 does, and also why is it that the 2480 has 64-bit utilities associated with it, but again, no 64-bit drivers. Hopefully this is a mistake or they can point you in the right direction on a fix. I'd also ask if it's possible to use the 2400's drivers on the 2480? I doubt it, but you never know.

Let us know.

OK...seeing that I don't understand German? and that others may benefit... are those 64 bit drivers? Cause clicking the dropdown box and choosing Vista 64 doesn't give you those (EPSON Scan (3.0u)) drivers as a choice. Which is where you were on the english side.

As I understand the article, Epson bundled the x64 drivers within the 32-bit file that I downloaded. Regardless, the scanner installed and works normally.
