Vista 64 bit driver for Lenz LI-USB

I purchased a usb serial adapter from Lenz and cannot find a driver that Vista will recognize. I have tried FTDI Vista 64 drivers, no luck. Contacted Lenz and they have no immediate plans to work on a Vista driver

This is for a model railroad set up to use JMRI decoderpro to enhance the experience and tune engines.

Thanks

I have got information from Lenz that they have Vista 64 (and Windows 7) drivers in Beta tests right now. I am still awaiting for some new software. I complained about that they must support new OS also on the market (I.E. Vista/Win 7 both 32 and 64 bit).

I have seen that PC's (from Dell) are equiped with x64 versions as default in the US, but in Europe they continue to use 32 bit.

I will inform you when I hear something new regarding updated drivers.

Thanks for the update.

I got a friend to fix the driver and it works well

I am not impressed with the support from Lenz as I bought my machine a year ago and they had no plans to support.

Dear 187king,

Can u tell me how your friend fixed the driver so it apprently worked under x64 vista?
I also mailed Lenz and waiting for an answer ... if it works under Vista x64 it definitely works under Windows 7 x64 !!!

If there were vista drivers for 64 bit in beta 3 weeks ago they might be released by now. The OP may not even look at this thread because he solved his problem and its 3 weeks old. Might get more response if you started your own thread. Just a heads up

Good luck and let us know if you need help

I received an answer from Lenz and they don't even own a computer with Vista or Windows 7 on it included 64 bits version.

How should they be able to develop new versions if they don't act professional.
I'm just laughing.

I told them I bought a new computer from Dell with Win7 64 bit on it and the don't have any solution.

Are there any other manufactors of USB devices to XpressNet in the states maybe?

I have downloaded the drivers for the USB to RS232 chip. Updated the install files and it works now for Windows 7 (and Vista) 32 and 64 bit.
