32 or 64 bit for Linksys firmware?

Hi, I have a version 8 of that router. I understand you must upload the driver via the 192 address. Does it matter if I'm on 32bit or 64bit OS? Is the driver just on the router not on my computer? thanks.

No, just download the firmware and do the update. It doesn't matter which version you have, 32 or 64-bit.

And you're not uploading the "driver", you're uploading the "firmware", there's a difference.

Firmware is directly applied to the hardware (in this case, the router), whereas a drivers is applied to the OS. Once the firmware is applied, it can't be overwritten by the OS, even if you replace or reinstall the OS. A loose example of a firmware would be a BIOS update.

Hope that helps.

Ok, thank you very much. I am just making sure I have everything good to go cause I am reformatting to 64-bit Vista. Thanks, again!
