Vista - Canon LBP-5000 drivers not found

Hi, I'm using a Canon LBP-5000 laser color printer for home and work and vista 64 doesn't recognize the drivers. I can't get it to install and so now, the printer doesn't work.

I've checked out Canon's site and no information is forthcoming about whether a driver will even be released at all.

I'm loathe to buy a new printer as this one is not even 8 months' old yet.

Any suggestions on how I can get this to work would be very welcome.

Hello Dippers and welcome to the Forum.

Support for x64 seems to be very sketchy have you tried using the x64 driver for the LBP5360 it is a similar model and might possibly work for you?

The LBP5000 printer is not supported in any 64 bit version of Windows. However you can try this 64bit driver for other Canon printers. Canon LBP3460 Printer Driver PCL6 v6.15 Windows XP x64/2003 x64/Vista x64 perhaps one will work.

nope.. no luck.. tried each and every driver in it .... (btw i selected the install port as USB001. hope thats correct).

anyway, thx for the help. i'll proceed with installing xp !
