Acer Travelmate driver

Just removed Home Premium and reformatted drive and removed EISA configuration partition.

Now when I try to install Ultimate, it says "No drivers for HDD", its a Hitachi 160GB,

Any information will be appreciated.

Re: Acer Travelmate driver

Probably referring to the SATA driver, which you should be able to get from Acer. If you can find it just put it on a USB key (if you have one) and when you get o the part in the install when it asks about installing drivers point it at the USB key.

Re: Acer Travelmate driver

Update on problem.
------------------------------------------------
Email from Acer
If you have, or are trying to install an Operating system that we did not provide with the machine, unfortunately we cannot provide support for it.

All we can over is to reimage the HDD with the original factory settings

Unfortunately this problem is not covered by the warranty and would be classed as a chargeable repair.

The cost of the re-image is £68.48. This will cover the collection of your computer by our courier, shipping to our repair centre, and time for a technician to resolve your problem. We will complete the work as quickly as possible and will deliver your machine back to you once the issue has been resolved.
-------------------------------------------------------------

Installed new HDD (320GB) double the size of original, its now installing Vista Ultimate, so it seems the old harddrive is dedicated to the system.

Once installed will create partition for my Win 7 installation.
