Viewsonic VA1912w and Vista Business

Desperately seeking help.

Have a new SonyZ laptop with Vista Business installed. It is clashing with almost everything I've tried to load.

Main problem is trying to connect to an external monitor: Viewsonic VA1912w.

I cannot find any drivers which will let this happen. Earlier posts (some time ago) suggest that the connection was not possible but was expected to be feasible in the near future ie it should be available now.

Can anyone suggest a solution??

Thanks

Vista 32 or 64? I had a problem with my video driver and it turned out to be my monitor driver.

I am on Vista Ultima x64 so YMMV... I had to find a x64 Vista driver from a different model model (newer model). Fortunately for me, it worked well and I no longer have the conflict.

I have never heard of this issue with Vista 32 so I have to assume that you also have 64. if not the case... I am stumped!

Also, connect the monitor and try windows update to see if there's any generic driver available from MS for the external monitor.

Mostly any hardware do not clash with the software that you are trying to install unless that is some drivers for a certain hardware - can you post the exact error message that you are getting and which software are you trying to install

Thanks everyone. Yes it was a Vista 64 bit which in my ignorance did not realise was so important. I have managed to get a generic upgrade & it now connects.

I really appreciate your assistance in keeping me from going crazy

Thanks!
