JMicron Driver difference

I have a gigabyte board with a jmicron controller and there is 3 different driver packages available, the normal one, ESATA, and write cache disabled. Obviously the write cache disabled is self explanatory but whats the different in ESATA and regular? May sound stupid but ill go ahead and ask

Re: JMicron Driver difference

Found this on the JMicron site.
It's not real clear, but....

JMB36X (360/361/363) RAID/AHCI Driver Release History

// [Package Description]
// RX.XX.XX - Driver would get eSATA setting from BIOS/Option Rom.
// RX.XX.XX_eSATA - Driver would report all Device connected as Removable Device with WriteCache Enabled.
// RX.XX.XX_eSATA_WriteCacheDisabled - Driver would report all Device connected as Removable Device with WriteCache Disabled.
// RX.XX.XX_No_eSATA - Driver would report all Device connected as Fix Device.

Re: JMicron Driver difference

Your most welcome, glad I could help.

The site is here:
http://www.jmicron.com/Driver.htm

Click ‘Download’ at the bottom of the page
Click ‘jmb36x’ for the RAID drivers
Click ‘Win2k_xp_Vista’ or your OS
Click ‘ReleaseNote.txt’ for above info and release history
Then select the driver you prefer.
