you need to more specific , why cant you play games? what happens when you try.?

if the issue started after the installation of your video card drivers then the issue isnt with Direct X , if you have Vista you have had direct x 10 right from the get go , you didnt just install it , did you run the direct x update tool?

what driver version did you install? did you uninstall the old rivers first or install over the top?

we need mor info to try and help mate :)

when i double click on the games, it loads the first, image phase. then when the black screen comes on and then my desktop comes back on. with no errors. My screen saver says that please run direct3d error message and the same error message appears when i want to play hp games.

i have directx 10. yes i ran the update tool also. all my drivers of my videocard are up to date too. (V:8.15) i right clicked on it and said to update drives and windows did the rest.

It could be because you let windows update your drivers

go here Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers get the latest drives for your card

uninstall your old drivers from control panel re boot then reinstall your new ones
