Video camera DRIVER (samsung)

I currently have a Digital Video Camera (Samsung mini DV).. It's model # is SC-D353. So, I have this video camera that I am completely unable to use on my computer. The camera is not too old (maybe 3 or 4 years at the most), but there are no drivers for 64 bit Windows Vista (home premium). Ever since I've gotten Windows Vists I've had nothing but problems. I had no idea, when I bought it that I would have this much trouble. So, what do I do? I want to make a music video, but I have no idea what Video Editing programs work with vista 64 bit. I also need to know if this camera is worthless, and if I now need to buy a new one. Someone please help me out here. Any clues, hints, tips, anything would be nice right now. I'm just soo lost.

Re: Video camera DRIVER (samsung)

Hello daeser1,
This driver (top one) is supposed to be for all Windows, but as you know this is not always a guarantee that it will work, if you want to try it, create a system restore point first.

I have scanned them and they are clean.

The only other thing i can think of is to try a x32Bit (bottom one) driver but i doubt if that will work, but as you have a camera as a paper weight, you dont have anything to lose.

If you decide to try any of the drivers dont forget to create a system restore point first.

I have to say if it was me i would have to know if these worked, but im a bit cavalier when it comes to things like this, lol.

Good luck and please post your results. Thank's.

Re: Video camera DRIVER (samsung)

I just got the idea of trying to use the memory stick in the camera. Of course I'd have to go buy a stick and see if it compatable with my computer.. Then I gotta figure out if I can transfer video through it... It's a hassle... I think I may just buy a new camera (one with a driver for Vista (64 bit).. I just wish I knew what I was getting myself into when I got this computer.. Very limited variety of drivers for this...

Re: Video camera DRIVER (samsung)

It is a problem, im surprised that samsung dont have a x64 bit driver for there camera, i dont think you would have any issues with the memory stick though, it's a pity you could not get this issue resolved with drivers. Too easy !.
Good luck with the music video.

Re: Video camera DRIVER (samsung)

One of the biggest strengths of x64 is memory, one of the biggest problems...driver support.

I had to talk a guy into buying a 32bit version of Vista strictly because of drivers. Pity.
