Ipod is recognized by itunes but not by device manager

I've had my ipod touch 2g for about 6 months and it's been working perfectly fine until I plug it in today. Itunes recognizes it but device manager and my computer don't. I'm running vista home basic.

Re: Ipod is recognized by itunes but not by device manager

Could you provide a little more info? What error codes, messages? Vista 32 or 64? What version of iTunes?

How to ask for help

Just trying to help. Thanks

Re: Ipod is recognized by itunes but not by device manager

Are you using your iPod also for data or just music? If you have a "partition" inside it to store your data files besides your music, then something is wrong (or you have an option checked in your iTunes that doesn't allow Device Manager to see it - I forgot which option was it). If you have it ONLY for music (without the mass storage optin enabled), then it's ok. You cannot use your Windows Explorer to get music in your iPod... for that you use iTunes.
