| Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit | CPU unable to connect to Screen I am having trouble booting up my computer. Vista SP1. My computer hangs occasionally during start up. And usually when i just turned it on, it gives a few long beeps and nothing happens on the screen. Could it be having problems with the CPU or my screen? |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: CPU unable to connect to Screen Hi there, It looks like a RAM problem or maybe is just something in your BIOS. At BIOS screen keep pressing a combination of DELETE, F2, F6 and F8 (one of them should work) until you get in your BOIS configuration. Once there, look for one of the last options that will allow you to restore de defaults settings and press enter. If it doesn't solve your problems, try shutting down, remove all your RAM modules but one (leave the one connected in the slot 0 which usually is the one closer to your CPU or processor) and turn on. Then repeat changing all your modules until you find the one with the problem and replace it by buying a new one. If nothing works, try asking a friend or family member for a borrowed video card and change it (if its the same, better... if not, try at least from the same manufacturer so you already have the drivers installed). If that doesn't solve the problem then its the processor... burn out - replace. Cheers, |

| Vista Ultimate x64 SP2 | Re: CPU unable to connect to Screen Hmm... that's a bummer for testing purposes. Try going out there and buying a new 1GB module... take yours out (just open both pins simultanously until the rectangle thingy pops up) and read the label on he side. It should say something like PC2-6400 800 Mhz for example and the brand. If you get lucky, you will find the exact same and buy a second module... if not, buy another 1GB from other brand with the same description, do the test and if it works, you get to solve the problem for 40 bucks... if it doesn't it's something else but now you have 2GB or RAM .First try and follow the guide left by kword88 up there... listening at your computer actually can solve many of the usual problems and can save you some money |

| Vista Home Premium 64bit SP2 | Re: CPU unable to connect to Screen good grief!! we need to know the make and model of your motherboard or your pc make and model and we need you to count the beeps , all mobo manufacturers use differant variations of bios and all have slightly differant codes , at this point it could be any piece of hardware |

| Vista home premium 64 bit | Re: CPU unable to connect to Screen You have a power supply or system board error. Check all your cables. Has it done this from the begining? Is it under a year old? |

| Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit | Re: CPU unable to connect to Screen Its more then a years old. And i checked my power supply. Used to work in the past without problems. What i actually suspected at the start was that my wire that connects to the Screen and CPU was spoiled. Cause my mum used to plug it out often this year's June and i had been having this problem since then. |
