keyboard driver corrupt or missing.

Hi all
my freinds keyboard stopped working all of a sudden and when i looked at it, it said missing or corrupt driver.
so i downloaded a driver on my pc put it onto disc and went into device manager on my friends pc to update driver in keyboard, but when i tryed to go into device manager it asked my for a password first..my freind gave me the password but of course i cannot type it in as the keyboard does not work.
how can i get around this problem?

Thanks and hoping.

Re: keyboard driver corrupt or missing.

Hello gymrat,
Try unplugging the keyboard, boot PC, when it's booted plug the keyboard back in, put it in a different USB port. Windows should re-install the generic driver.
Good luck and post your results, thanks.

Re: keyboard driver corrupt or missing.

it is possible for a few coins to get a PS2 to USB adaptor from most local pc or hardware shops or in failing and waiting you can get one from ebay or amazon

Re: keyboard driver corrupt or missing.

thanks for the help but i have just fixed it..what i did was in control panel i used the online keyboard i think it's called, and used that to enter the password that was stopping me re-installing the driver i needed.
Thanks both.
