| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | Hello prit, Maybe you could give us a bit more information. What Vista OS do you have ?. x32/x64 When you say it doesn't work, what is it doing, do you get an error message ?. The more info you give us the better. |

| vista home premimum | it is vista but not sure it is x32 or x64,when i start my dell inspiron 1501,it prompts new hardware found,new hardware is ATA device,i also found ATA device under device manager without its driver.My dvd +rw is also not showing in my computer.Even i coundt find out in my recovery drive. thanx for reply |

| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | It should run OK with the generic driver supplied by Vista. Go to device manager and un-install the DVD/CD drive. Reboot and it will install the device, and load the generic driver. Good luck and post your results. |

| vista home premimum | Sorry dvd/cd drive is not coming or detecting in device manager as well.I performed factory imge from recovery drive but same problem i found,again it is asking for driver for ata devce.Is there any option to load windows without presing F12 every time when pc start. It is vista 32bit operating system. Thanx |

| Vista Ultimate x64, SP2 | OK. It sounds like there is a loose connector, can you check to see if all the leads are pushed home securely in the drive itself. Also remove the battery for 5 mins, i have had it where the bios does not recognise the drive, but removing the power from it seems to reset it. Give this a go and post your results. Good luck. |
