| Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | If you've wiped the recovery drive from a laptop then you can restore it by: 1) Going to the manufacturer's control centre/software app if you have one and choosing the right option or 2) Reinstalling from your recovery cd's which might bring it back If not, create recovery discs for your laptop which are usually enough to bring it back from the dead. |

| VISTA HOME PREMIUM X64/ 7 x64 / 7x86 | If the files are deleted from the "recovery" partition , I don't imagine you would be able to run off "recovery" discs, or have many options in the manufacturer's control center. 1. If you deleted the files ( not the partition itself) , you should be able to use a file undelete app. I would try the Undelete module in the free Glaryutilities : Glary Utilities ( do not click the green download button - that is an advertisement. Click where it says "other builds" ) Install it on C. Scan D. Recover the files to C. When they are all recovered, copy/move them back to D. 2. If you deleted the partition - do not do anything else to the partition - do not recreate it or format it. Download the free Partition Wizard Home Edition and install it on C. Run the Partition Recovery function. Partition Wizard is a Windows based FREE Partition Manager. It works as partition magic and supports Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 server and Windows 7. FREE for Home and Business user. Partition Recovery - Partition Wizard Help Make sure the Disk is highlighted in blue, then click Partition Recovery in the left pane. ![]() Try scanning Unallocated space >Next. Quick scan>Next Hope it helps |
