Vista - Motu driver instal problem: error 1721

I've googled this and got many answers and tried them all. With no luck. I was told to enter cmos, then unregister and reregister it (the Windows Installer Program things).. and that did not work..

While searching I found people with the same problem. But they were unable to install or uninstall things. I'm able to install, or uninstall anything I want.. Except the program we want to install. Why would only that have the problem.

If anyone's had the Windows Error 1721 problem. I could sure use the help/idea's/thoughts.

The solution was supplied by Motu support:

To get rid of the 1721 error message, go to your Control Panel > User Accounts > and disable your User Account Control. This will require you to restart your computer. Then after that, go to Programs and Features and uninstall all the MOTU drivers and then reinstall the drivers from the instructions I listed above. Let me know how this goes.

It worked like a charm in my case.
