Acer cordless mouse / keyboard drivers

I have an Acer M5630 desktop, running Vista Home Premium, which came with an Acer cordless mouse (Model MG-0570T) and keyboard (Model KG-0570).

Although the Acer documentation refers to the driver providing task bar icons for low battery power, upper case lock, etc. there were no Acer drivers provided. The machine as delivered is using the standard Microsoft drivers which do not provide taskbar icons. I have contacted Acer and they say they do not provide drivers!

I would really like a battery low indication as the batteries don't seem to last all that long!

I am not sure where to go from here. Is Microsoft Intellipoint the answer? There are lots of downloads for Logitech mouse/keyboard drivers - would they do the job - I guess it depends how compatible the Acer keyboard/mouse combo is with Logitech?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The battery tray icon can be had by right clicking the taskbar and selecting properties > then going to the Notification tab > checking the Power box > closing it then rebooting. As far as the rest, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think that's for laptop battery power indication. In any case, the Acer M5630 is a desktop and the "Power" box at Taskbar/Properties/Notification is greyed out.

My problem is a cordless mouse and keyboard which Acer provide without a driver. The documentation describes the driver functions as including the "low battery" indication on the taskbar (as well as upper case lock, etc.), but they don't supply the driver and refuse to co-operate by telling me where a driver compatible with their cordless keyboard and mouse can be found.

Thanks anyway for taking the time and trouble to give me your suggestion.

Just so I understand correctly, your trying to get the drivers for the wireless mouse and keyboard so you can see the power information on those devices?

Yes. The driver described by Acer in their documentation, but which they will not provide, provides a power low indication in the task bar for the keyboard battery and for the mouse battery, as well as for upper case lock on the keyboard.

I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's a real nuisance when the battery dies without warning and renders the system unusable.
