How do I go about upgrading my nVidia driver? I already have the new version downloaded, but I am unsure how you go about upgrading it. I get the idea that you have to uninstall the old one, but I have no idea how to do any of this. Help.

Hello FallenMorgan, If you go into your Control Panel then Programs & Features click on Nvidea Drivers & it will show you what Nvidea drivers you have.
Uninstall the driver you are upgrading then restart your computer.
When your computer has restarted right click on your downloaded installer and select Run as Administrator and follow the instructions, when complete restart your computer again.
If you are doing you Chipset driver as well make sure you install it before any others and restart after each driver installation.
I hope this answers you questions.

How do I shut off McAfee?
Sorry i dont know i have never had anything to do with McAffee
all i can suggest is to shut it down via services in administrative tools unless you want to post this particular question in the Forum General section, someone else who is logged on should know

EDIT: Here is a tutorial if you choose to go with shutting down via Services
