Recently my display driver crashed with the "nvlddmkm.sys" problem so I had a new display driver installed. The only problem is that I have NO IDEA what kind it is. I took it out and searched for a logo but I couldn't find anything. My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 32bt. Please Help!

The Belarc Advisor worked perfectly but it said I have a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter which was the configuration for my old graphics card. My computer works fine but when I need the graphics, it'll give me a "grapics failed to initialize". So I need the driver software for this new card which I don't know anything about.

Maybe CPU-Z might give more info?
CPUID

Also if set that way Windows Update may have at least the basic driver needed by automatically detecting it.

Can you get inside the machine and look to see what video card is installed? Switch it off first of course.

Once you have ascertained that then you should uninstall any nVidia drive showing in your Control Panel/Programs/Uninstall a Program and install the latest from nVidia's website.

It's pretty definite that you have an nVidia card from your original post.

So you're sure I have an nVidia card? That was the kind of card I had before I got it replaced. And also I checked inside but I didn't see a logo of any kind. The only information I could glean was that the fan on the card belonged to Gigabyte.

Well that sys file is definitely an nVidia file, that's the only reason I insist that it's an nVidia problem.

Have you gone into Device Manager and expanded and right-clicked your display adapters & updated the driver and let it search the internet? Has Windows Update perhaps offered a driver (it usually does) and if so did you refuse it - it'll be in hidden updates?

I have downloaded the software and am now running with a resolution of 1440 by 900. This is the best display performance my computer has ever had. Thank you very much.
