video driver failed to initialize

ok when i start up my laptop it loads the black screen with the little loading bar then it goes to the blue screen and says

a problem has been detected ect

and also it says the video driver failed to initialize

and it gives me this stop number

can any one help oir am i going to havew to formatt my pc?

Hi,

This BSOD can be caused by a number of things:
Recent hard-ware change; corrupt or uninstalled graphics card driver; graphics card conflict; dead graphics card.

Can you boot into Safe Mode which uses a standard, basic graphics card driver or Last Known Good Configuration? If not, are you getting past the BIOS screen? Have you made any changes recently, to settings, software or drivers?

Can you please fill in your system specs and does your computer have a parallel port?

It is also worth running a memory test, just to check your RAM, either one that has come with your computer or Memtest and then post your results.

Can you access your Vista DVD, and if you can, have you tried running start-up repair, though I really doubt it will help.

If you can access Safe Mode, try to update or roll back your graphics card driver from Device Manager and then update to the latest ATI or nVidia driver (or whatever your graphics card needs)

Then navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump, zip up the contents of the dump files and upload them to your next post. You may want to put them in your Documents folder first.
