nVidia removed 196.75 Geforce Driver from site

Not sure if anyone is affected by this or not....I didn't see any posts on it, so I thought i'd mention it.

Nvidia removed 196.75 from their website and have advised users to revert back to 196.21. There was a large issue with the drivers messing up the fan controls on certain cards, mainly the variations of a 9800gt it seems. Either the fans wouldn't work at all, of would not increase speed when needed, causing a lot of overheating, and in some cases, fried cards.

From the nVidia driver d/l page:

196.75 Alert!
We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers do not download this driver. Instead, please stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our website and we also are asking our partners and others to remove temporarily this 196.75 WHQL driver as well.

Update:

NVIDIA is aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues after installing 196.75 drivers from NVIDIA's website. NVIDIA has removed these drivers and asked its partners to also remove the drivers. Any customers still using 196.75 drivers are asked to immediately discontinue use and either roll back to their previous driver or install the new 197.13 drivers.
