Well I uninstalled a driver, not sure it was the right one, and it didn't reinstall when I restarted the computer. Will it be there if I go back to a previous date with system restore?

If you do a system restore the old driver should come back. Is the SD card reader external? You can try disconnecting the card reader and reconnecting it. That might cause the found new hardware wizard to pop up. Otherwise i would try the driver ilikefree posted in his link.

Go to device manager and update the driver when it asks if you would like to go on line or browse your computer say browse and go to the file you downloaded from the link I gave you earlier
