CDrom.sys not recognizing correct drive

After updating Vista Home 32bit to the latest update, my DVD burner has stopped working. I have tried to delete the upper and lower filters but that does not work. Instead of the correct hl-dt-st dvdram gsa-t20n DVD drive, the drive is now labeled as DMDINWJ PIZ0DERK5EB SCSI CdRom Device. Once out of about 20 restarts, the dvd drive actually worked and allowed me to burn a dvd but once I restarted the next time, it went back to not working. I have tried uninstalling the dvd drive and IDE channels but that does not work either. System restore didn't work either. Any other suggestions that I should try???? BTW, I have a HP DV9700 if that helps any. Thanks for any and all help!!

Use system restore to go back 3 days before the updates. Then see if everything works again, it should. Then post for the next step.

Not sure if you read my post but I tried the system restore to a week before but it didn't help. I have yet to read a post on the internet about the drive changing drivers to a different drive. I will just keep restarting hoping the DVD burner comes back to normal!!
