Driver software could not be located

Hi,
I got WD Element External Hard Drive. It doesn't come with CD, because it is just a plug in and ready to use one. I plugged it in, but Vista asks me to install driver software for this new device. But, it could not install any driver software found online or anywhere. There is a yellow triangle at Device Manager, and I tried to click to update/install new driver software. It states;

This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

However, it could not find any software to install after reinstall driver.

How can I solve this?

Thanks.

Thanks, I used my laptop which is XP, and connected it to USB. It is fine and doesn't need any driver because it is just a plug in and ready to use. I am using my laptop to use it, not my desktop for now.

I used a small USB to save the files from my desktop and then use it on laptop to save it on external hard drive back and forth. It is a time consuming, but I don't mind, though:)
