cd rom drive not shown/working

could someone pleas help me! I went into reg ed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} but there was no "Upper Filters, Lower Filters" in right pane to delete as someone suggested in a thread.:(
