Cursor Froze in middle No mouse will work.

I am at my wits end here. My usb mouse quit working. Let me explain.
The mouse lights up but will not move the cursor. I have tryed 4 different mice and they all do the same thing.
When I go to Device Manager There is no longer a HID.
When I go to the mouse setting from the control panel there is no mouse under advance tab.
I suspected the usb ports where bad so I plugged different devices in, Android phone, Camera, Web cam..They all loaded the drivers and installed on all ports. They all ran just fine???? only mice will not run.
??? I am very confused as to why it is just the mouse that will not install.
I tried a earlier restore point..mouse still will not work.
Ran a sfc scan...no integrety probems..
I tried loading a driver from HP web site.....Nothing
Even tried an old fashion Hardware search..Nothing...I cannot even find a mouse driver in the manual install selections. Its like the computer was never designed with a mouse.
Crazyness....It worked fine untill 2 days ago. the computer has a 2007 build date. Hp wants to charge me 60 dollars to load new drivers but I have tried that and do not want to waste my money..Someone Please HELP!

Did that. Went back 2 months nothing.

Run a full anti virus scan
Download and run a full updated scan with malwarebytes.

can not get to it. tab will not lite up so I can tell when to push enter to download

cause of Security it lights up but no way to click it to allow download

Can you do anything in safe mode?

yes still getting it...I am not real good without a mouse it is a learning curve..have it installed about to run scan

What brand is the mouse

If it works in safe mode, it may work with a clean boot. If it does work, follow clean boot instructions to find the cause

Two of the mice are Hp Usb and the other 2 are Different models of logitech wireless..They all work on the other 3 computers in the house. mine is the only one with vista.

no the mouse wont work in Safe mode.

Go to device manager, type that in search.
Do you see any yellow warning posters, by the mouse drivers?
Does it say working properly?

no there are no mouse drivers..that is what gets me...Its like this computer never had a mouse. when you pull up the mouse under control panel. There is no mouse driver. It acts like the mice are not even plugged in except that the eye does light up on the mouse. it wont even try to install an unknown device. anything else i plug into the usb ports installs just fine...its odd that it is just mice that it does this to

In device manager do you have an entry Mouse and other pointing devices?
Go to start search type device manager and check please.

I see a problm
The combined scans anti virus and malwarebytes should have take over an hour, (full scan, not quick scan) You reported back after an hour. Did you do 2 full scans?
Another problem is that we were forced to do it in safe mode, Im afraid that not all programs were checked.
Im leaning toward malware.
