    Hopefully there's an easy solution?? Missing Drivers

    Im not tech savvy in the slightest. What does all of this meannnnn... I had to reinstall all of my software, etc. You know the story. And now I have two drivers missing for the network: Network Controller and SM Bus Controller. I checked the Dell site, and was so confused... I'm hoping there's someone that just knows how to do these things haha.

    Go to search by the windows start button
    In search type device manager.
    In device manager you should see some small yellow markers, update those drivers.
    If you do not see the yellow markers, update the conroller that you are missing. Check back in a few. I will post a tutorial that will tell you how.

    Install your interent connection.

    Thank you for your help I just downloaded a chip set and that solved the problem with the SM Bus, however, even after doing the update that you suggested I have been unsuccessful with the Network Controller! the messages i receive are either to A) Enter a disc, which i dont have. or B) to go onto the Dell site, where i've been- where it doesnt have the network controller. Haha.

    Go to Model, Laptop, Inspiron Laptop, Inspiron 1545.
    With Windows Vista 64bit.
    Then I just don't know which to download! :/

    I recognize the Bluetooth one, but I could be entirely wrong. Are all of these network controllers?

    If you download a driver for software that you have, it will say you already have the most up to date. If it is not up to date, it will install. The controller connects the computer to the network.
    Do you have internet?

    This is what I suggest. Forget about the warning. Use the computer, when you have a problem we will know the precise cause. You may not even have a problem.
