CD/DVD Drive Not Detected

So I tried playing a game and my computer says that the CD/DVD drive is not detected at all. I've tried fixing the registry, and some other things but nothing seems to be working. Please Help!!!

Welcome
Go to search and type device manager. In device manager, make sure there are no yellow markers, indicating driver problems. Go specifically to dvd/cd drives and other drives and make sure they are up to date.

Well I decided to just take it too Rockstar Computers after hours of trying to figure this out. After a while of going through all the steps and even replacing the disk drive with another and it still not working, he determined it is the actual board for the disk drive that died. He said that this is a very common thing to go out on HP's since they don't actually make their own drivers. Thanks for all the help guys!
