Wifi driver

I got hit with some sort of bug and now my wifi won't work in my Lenovo G530 running Vista Business (32bit). I've tried reinstalling the wifi drivers repeatedly in every way imaginable - the last way was to delete INFCACHE.inf and letting vista rebuild the INFCACHE - but each time I try I get the message "the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process" What does this mean and how do I fix the problem? I've used manual and automatic install processes and updating driver, I've had 2 IT "professionals" go through remotely to try and fix the problems and have logged onto REIMAGE and had the system look for fautly files. Please help!!!

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Can you tell me what kind of bug, is it still there, if not how did you rid the bug from your system...

also can you tell us the date that you got the bug and when deleted if you know.

I don't remember what bug it was --- was found by IObit malware program, but it screwed up my wifi anyway and my usb ports won't recognize any new flash drives or anything plugged into them, except older stuff I'd added months ago. Happened about June 24-25th. I immediately tried to restore to an older restore point, but Vista hadn't kept any restore points older than that day and that didn't work. Tried reloading the drivers by going to the Lenovo website and getting the drivers (intell 5100) for the wireless, but when I try to load them, it seems to work at loading them (takes 10 minutes or more, then gives me a message that the process can't access the drivers because they are in use by another process, what ever that means. I haven't tried to recover the drive back to the original state because I'd loose all my current programs and will have the hassle of having to buy or find the old keys.

You may not have gotten rid of thre virus.... The error you get is because there is a running program interferring with the rebuild.

Not knowing what it was, though there should be a log in your malware progam, you might want to consider a format.

There ae programs whicvh will find your keys... but i cant recommend one.

If you had the OS installed by the company that sold you the computer, the key on the computer will probably work.
