    Driverupdate.exe

    Hi,
Is Driverupdate.exe by Slimware Utilities safe?
I downloaded it and ran it. It found twenty drivers that needed to be updated. At the point where they asked me to register and provide a lot of personal information I got scared and aborted. They claim to be certifed by Microsoft. I would like to update my drivers if I was certain that this was safe. Perhaps there is another tool to do this.
    Thanks

Safe or unsafe this is not the way to go.
    Go to search
type device manager, in device managager look for outdated drivers. Update via the device manager or much better, go to the website and update from there.
    Device Manager - Install Driver

That being said virus total may be able to answer your immediate question

    Thanks Riche46,
I went to Device Manager and chose Realtek
Driverupdate.exe said this one was very old. When windows checked it it said that it was up to date.
Do the normal Windows updates include drivers? If so I am creating a problem where none exists. I do the Windows updates regularly.
    Thanks

    Re: Driverupdate.exe

You must go to the Realtec site and download from there.
    Realtek
As a general rule, in my opinion
The driverupdates and similiar software is the worst way to go
Windows update is next. They give you a "one size fits all"
The website gives the best and most up to date
"Good going", to even care about drivers. Most dont do anything and have problems

Windows update includes drivers, but often times not the best or most current.
