Device Manager error message

I'm not exactly sure where to post this thread but anyways, I'm trying to open my Device Manager but I keep getting this error message:
"C:\Windows\system32\mmcbase.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."

See if an SFC command will fix the problem. Run several times if it is not repaired the first time
