I have a data cord for my diabetic glocumeter that I had used on my desktop. The connecter end is a 9 pin adapter with holes not the actual pins. I have recently transitioned to a lap top which dosn't have the 9 pins (with the pins) just the holes.. so now I have holes to holes and no way to connect. So I bought a "Prolific Usb to Serial Comm Port (COM4)" to attach and make it USB friendly .. unfortunately the connector peice runs on a 32 bit and I am running a 64 so the drivers for the connector wont install. This is all totally greek to me. Can I switch to a 64? I googled a 64 bit driver for this thing and didn't get much help. Do I toss it and buy a 64 bit connector? I'm so lost

Hi kassy,

Welcome to the forum,

Let's not toss anything yet, the connector itself isn't 32/64 bit specific, after a little searching, I ran across this post that might help with your problem.

Prolific PL2303 USB-to-Serial port adapter driver fails to install - Microsoft Answers

They mention this driver Windows Vista driver for prolific chip USB Serial Adapters working on their Vista 64 bit system.

This tutorial is handy for installing drivers,
