HP DV9000 and DV6000 CD drive missing from DM and My computer

Hey all i haven't been on this forum in a while iv been very busy. I currently have 2 HP computers the DV9000 and DV6000, i have looked up multiple forums for the problem and none has happened yet. The bios detects the CD drive but the OS does not.

I have tried deleting and reseting the uperfilters and lower filters didnt work
I have tried installing a fresh copy of windows 7 and windows vista still didnt work
tried installing windows 7 drivers didnt work
i pretty much tried everything

does anyone have any experience with fixing these computers? i have to return them to the pawn shop soon i am fixing them for. im not making any money on them because they are returned computers i worked on before and iv spent hours trying to fix them.

Any one know why the CD drive is not detected? its driving me crazy, i dont want to tell the pawnshop owner hes out of luck and bought defective computers when i know its a driver issue.

Hello, You say that it is a driver issue, which would mean the drives are firmly connected and are in fact functional, which would leave going to the site of the manufacture for the drive and getting its drivers . Is that an option for you ?

If speccy does not see them, you have bad connection , or faulty hardware.

Tis strange, do you have any way to bench test them to see if the drives actually will function ?

i believe its a Nvidia faulty chip set back from the HP law suit, i am fixing them for a pawnshop though and i need to figure out how to fix them, idk what to say to the pawnshop iv had them for 3 weeks now. any suggestion on what i should tell the owners? i was thinking of finding 2 USB CD drives but they gotta sell these for a profit.

only time i can use the CD drive is in bios, keep in mind i have installed fresh copies of windows and the same issue has happened. lower and uperfilters are not in the driver panel i have replaced them and even did the help20 command ect
