cannot connect two external drives

hello everyone

I am trying to connect two external drives to my computer and i am using
a four into one usb connection, but it does not seem to work, I do not get the two drives to show up in my computer menu, and they do not work.
When I plug them in to my computer seperately they do show up as "F" and "G"
drives, and they work OK.
Can anyone please help

Yeah, sorry for the delay. I have a 4 port USB hub that can either be powered by mains or by the USB.

When it is powered by the USB it only has enough power to power 1 USB port at a time. However, when it is powered by the mains, all 4 ports work. If you have the option to power the HUB via the mains, I would do that, at all times.

Yha, what typrR asked was does the usb hub get plugged into the wall as well?

Usb items draw power, and if not externally powered it draws power from/through the port. There might not be enough power through the usb port to properly powern the hub to recognize both drives.

Unpowered hubs are fine for mice and keyboards, but when data and more complex devices get added things get flakey.

hello everyone

I have plugged the 4 in 1 usb hub to the mains and it is working fine.
When I open the external "F" drive I get an autoplay window (see attachment), but
when I open the external "G" drive I dont get this autoplay window, can anyone
tell me how do i get this window to appear.autoplay my passport F.JPG

What happens when you plug them in 1 after amnother, Letting 1 open up like your picture, than the other?

one is a WD Elements the other is a Passport, that is the one that shows autoplay.
When I plug them in one at a time "F" is the only one that shows autoplay.

Has the Element opened that menu before?

If so, check in the drive properties to see if you can resdet the auto play.

I cannot see anything to reset in the drive properties.
I have just tried an experiment. I changed the letter of the drive and then
changed it back while the drive was plugged in and the autoplay appeared, but
when i unplugged it and then plugged it back in no autoplay appeared even though
i waited for a couple of minutes

I have tried both options, the control panel option was already on and the
REG file download option I was not sure about but i downloaded the file and followed instructions this has still not worked.
this second option gave me a warning, was this option safe to use or because it has not worked should i use system restore to put my computer back to its former setting

thanks everyone for yor help on this problem but i dont think i am going to solve this

No need to restore. If you enabled, just unenable, if that makes you comfortable.
