Help with missing imapi drivers!

    Help with missing imapi drivers!

    Hello,



    This being my first post, I'm wondering how in the world my imapi drivers just disappeared? My tsst CD/DVD drive burned beautifully, but suddenly my drivers for my HP pavilion laptop are gone, how or why I'm not sure, but I need to know if I can get them back, short of a total reinstall? I've tried the Microsoft website, but all those imapi drivers say they are incompatible with my machine! HELP! oh, and thanks!

    Welcome
    Lets hope its as easy as a scan.
    System Files - SFC Command
    Run three times
    If it does not work, go to seach by the start button, and type device manager.
    Go to the CD/DVD drivers and update.

    OK Rich,

    So far I'm on my second run and nothing found, I will go a third and then follow your final instructions, if nothing, then I'll be back to post what my next options are(I dread a reinstall, lol)OK? Thanks again as I wouldn't have had a clue to do this, but hey give me a cell phone and I can do anything!

    If no errors were found or repaired with the SFC, try the second part of my suggestion.

    Absolutely already did, no new drivers found or available! Sorry I should have stated that!

    Have you checked it's directory? imapi.sys Windows process - What is it?

    It would be my opinion to try and get the needed files from the CD. It must be an installtion CD and not the image given to you by the computer companies.

    Townsbg,

    Checked for the imapi.sys as per instructions on the links you gave me and it is nowhere to be found, cannot find the imapi.exe under system32 either!

    By the way I do not have an authentic windows disk, just the HP disk! Ughhhhh!
