| | Windows Vista 64 Bit Hardware BSOD Nightmare I've been trying to install Vista 64Bit for many days now with no luck. I've been getting all types of bluescreens while installing. Off the top of my head I can remember 0x9c and 0x124. Since I've been getting these bluescreens I've been frequenting these forums. I think I've tried everything. I've tried going into the BIOS and disabling pretty much anything that didn't have anything to do with the computer actually functioning including my USB mouse among other BIOS settings I've tried to configure. I've also flashed my BIOS with the latest 1/15/2007 BIOS version. I've tried using different DVD drives and hard drives with no luck. I've even purchased new Kingston DDR2 533Mhz ram. If anyone can please look into my issue and shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it. My hardware specs: Kingston 1GB 533Mhz ram Maxtor 80Gb Hard drive (4R080LO) Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHZ PC Chips P23G MOBO with new BIOS updates 512 Mb ATI Radeon 1650 Pro AGP with new Vista drivers on CD (which I always remove during instillation) |

| Windows XP\Vista\Linux | Hi mate. I did some googleing and found some clues. The 0x9c error seems to be related to a bug in hardware (since you have changed your RAM, maybe your CPU is having troubles?) However I could only find stopreasons for 32bit CPU's and Itanium CPU's. On the 0x124 error I found some info on (yet again) hardware error and it is recommended to try updating all i\o drivers (videocard, soundcard, chipset, etc) Good luck, see if you can write down any more specific bluescreens. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Vista 64 Bit Hardware BSOD Nightmare if you have a old dos boot disk, run fdisk then remove the registering with I think the command is rd (please anybody jump if rd is not the right command) this rd keeps record of any os you put in.(this may force you installation in the wrong direction) reload your vista. you can check with DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with DriverAgent if you have the right drivers ind- this did it for me. I think 1 GB/ 533 is too little for dualcore 3,0 GHZ |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Windows Vista 64 Bit Hardware BSOD Nightmare When installing Vista I used to get BSOD's every attempt. While it recognized my HD controllers it had a driver that didnt function as it should. I got the driver diskette from Intel and used that at the prompt to add new scsi controllers and the installs never failed again. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate | Re: Windows Vista 64 Bit Hardware BSOD Nightmare I am not familiar with this motherboard - it does not claim to support vista 64, only xp 64bit - it is a bit old. try installing windows xp or live booting ubuntu and see if the hardware errors still happen could be a lot of things but probably not memory |
