Canon Lide 35

Hello !

Has anyone an idea how to get the Canon Lide 35 Scanner working under Vista 64? I tried everything, but even Vuescan won't work.

Regards,
Schombi

Re: Canon Lide 35

I have been able to make my LIDE 35 work under Vista 64 by manually installing it as a LIDE 60 and also using the Canoscan Software for LIDE 60.
To install manually, first install the LIDE 60 Vista 64 drivers from the Canon website . Now connect your LIDE 35, then cancel the installation process. In the device manager, select the inactive LIDE 35 and choose to update the driver. Select "all available drivers", then point to the LIDE 60 drivers listed under Canon Inc.
Works a treat!

Re: Canon Lide 35

Hello!

This sound promising, but unfortunately I can't get the Canon x64 drivers (Lide 60) to work with my system.
When trying to install them manually and I choose the CNQL60.ini file, which should contain the 64bit driver, I get an error message saying there is no 64bit driver ...

Any ideas?

Re: Canon Lide 35

The solution works great. One additional gotcha is that I was able to install a Toolbox that did not work with the 64 bit LIDE 60 driver. The solution was to download and install the latest 64 bit Toolbox. Including relevant URL's for ease of reference:

LiDE 60 Scanner Driver Ver. 11.1.1.1a_64 (Windows 7 x64/Vista64)

CanoScan Toolbox Ver. 4.9.3.2 (Windows 7/7 x64/Vista/Vista64/XP/2000/Me/98)

Re: Canon Lide 35

Thanks, all, for the detailed and useful information. I thought I was going to have to break down and buy a new scanner, even though I was happy with my Lide-35. Your directions worked perfectly for me.
