Wireless Lan adapter problem

Hi. I recently installed Windows Vista in my computer. As soon as the installation was finished, Windows automatically installed my Encore Wireless-G PCI Adapter Enlwi-G as Marvell Libertas b/g. I connected to the internet and everything worked fine. After installing a program, I had to restart my computer. When I entered windows again I wasn't able to access the internet. I checked the wireless lans but the computer couldn't find any around. So I went to the Device Manager and saw there was an error with my adapter, it gave me Error Code 10: This device cannot start. I tried installing its driver for Windows XP, the driver fo Enlwi-G2 for Vista, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any idea of what to do or have a similar problem solved??

oh, and just another simple question, how do I cancel hardware installation in Vista?

Tanks a lot!

What program did you install that required a restart? I also looked at this site: Marvell drivers and did not see a Vista driver...... Is this an onboard NIC, or a PCI card? If it is an onboard, the motherboard manufacturer may have a driver.

The program actually is kind of irrelevant, it was itunes. Well is it strange for Windows to install my Encore adapter as Marvell Libertas? Well today I tried something new, I tried updating driver to the Encore ENLWI-G driver, but windows said that the driver was already installed. So went on system32 drivers and put ENLWI-G's driver in the name of the driver of Marvell Libertas that it kept using. Well the utility used in Windows XP appeared and it found the networks around, but windows itself didn't. Well now I'm back to zero.
Well it's a PCI card, Encore ENLWI-G PCI adapter. I tried using it's windows xp driver and ENLWI-G2 (the card's newer version) that has a vista driver, but didn't work also.

The manufacturer for the PCI NIC may be Encore, but the chipset may still be Marvell, hence Windows installing it as a Marvell NIC. Look at the print on the main chip on the wireless card - that should be the tell tale. I did find Encore Electronics, Inc., this is for the G2 model, but it is worth a shot. The Vista 64 driver is near the bottom of the page. Good Luck!
