| | Canon 350D driver problem. I have recently bought a new base unit with Vista Home Premium 64bit installed. I have loaded all the software that came with my Canon 350D camera but Vista says it need to install new divers for a Canon Digital camera when I connect it via USB. It can not find any drivers on the install disc and recommends I install drivers for a "EOS KISS_N REBEL_XT 350D". I have checked the Canon website for the drivers and found no reference to the recommended drivers? I have found update for the software that came with the camera which I have applied but it still says it's found new hardware when I connect the camera. The current versions of software installed are: Digital Photo Professional ver 3.0.2.6 EOS Utility ver 2.0.2.6 ZoomBrowser EX 5.8.0.74 I have done a google search which brought up several sites none of which appear to work. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working. |

| | Re: Canon 350D driver problem. Hi Blakey, I do not know if you have this one or not, but I found this at Canon: http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010192.asp 1. Canon Camera USB WIA Driver for Windows Vista (6.0.0) Compatibility: Operating system(s): Windows Vista 32bit Language(s): English It says it is not compatible with the x64 Vista or x64 XP though, only 32 bit versions. Sorry, Shawn |

| | Re: Canon 350D driver problem. Yep Canon Doesnt have 64-bit driver support at all ![]() One thing you can do is get a Compact Flash card reader and use that to transfer your images while this driver thing gets sorted out on Vista X64 |

| | Re: Canon 350D driver problem. Hi Guy's, Firstly thanks for the response. I have downloaded the Canon Camera USB WIA Driver for Windows Vista (6.0.0) and rightly so the system will not allow it to be installed. The camera does use Compact Flash cards so I will have to transfer them via a reader as suggested. Hopefully Canon will realise that support for 64bit is the way to go and produce a driver in the near future. Once again thanks for your assistance. Regards Paul. |

| | Re: Canon 350D driver problem. Would you not be better using a card reader ? transferring from camera to computer drains the camera battery very quickly, at least it does on my canon 300d. Card readers are cheap and easy to install. I'm surprised there's not one on your new base unit, I thought they were pretty much standard add-on these days |

| | Re: Canon 350D driver problem. I had the same problem in vista.but this problem is solvable by change a setting on your camera.for solve the problem change your camera's Communication setting(last option in camera menu) from Print/PTP to PC Connection.when you change this setting you'll see it work like before on XP.I think it works on Vista X64. |
