| Member | Crash to Desktop and Memory.dll Error Fixes The solution for this very common problem really does not seem to be well known in many forums but it is available. This is why I am posting this. This would make a useful sticky in this gaming forum? Anywho, it usually occurs due to a bug in memory management with large RAM graphics cards (ie Nvidia 8800 series) in Vista and less so in XP. MS has patches for these, but they are not autoupdate patches. Full patching will be in SP1 Vista. http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_vista_hotfixes.html Also you can consider changing settings for dynamic lighting to medium - Visually, you'll hardly notice, but this cuts crashes hugely. |
