Unreal Tournament 2004 and Vista Home Prem

Has anyone here used UT 2004 on Vista Home Prem 32bit? Does it work well? I'm on a Toshiba Satellite laptop and according to Toshiba Direct, I already have the latest drivers (they haven't put out new audio/video drivers since last summer). But since UT 04 is a three-year-old game, it should run properly with these drivers, huh?

I read online that UT does work with Vista, as it was one of the games tested frequently on Vista's beta releases. It doesn't have the legacy mode problem because it doesn't install to the Program Files folder, but to its own folder in the root folder.

So are there any problems that I need to know about beforehand for this game?

My sound is RealTek HD Audio and my vid is Nvidia GForce 7800 with 256 MB discrete RAM (separate from system RAM).

UT2k4 runs well on Vista 32- and 64-bit... but the one thing you should know before you buy this 3 years old game is that its new Incarnation UT3 is coming out on November 19... and you can download the free demo of UT3 (750 meg) at FilePlanet or any such place.

Should you buy UT2k4, our two public servers will be running it until UT3 comes out later in November)

Thanks for the reply. I'll think about trying the UT3 demo on this machine if UT2004 works properly. Is a dual core 1.66 GHz CPU OK for this?

I'd love to come and play on your servers, but I'm on dialup for the time being. I just want the game so I can practice and keep my skills from deteriorating.
