Unreal Tournament III

Unreal Tournament III (full game) plays well with Vista 64-bit. As with most PC games, it will surely run even better past the first patches (the first of which is in beta and should be released within 2 weeks from now) and the content will improve once the UT community starts producing custom maps... One of our servers is already up and running iCTF.

yes it runs flawlessly in ultimate 64, but there is a bug right now where a lot of people (including myself) get an 'error connection to server lost' after almost every game, forcing you to login.

hopefully the patch will be out soon...

great game though! better than quake wars 1000%

All very true. I look forward to the fixes as well as some more high quality content.

...I just wish there was a way to install a dedicated server..

There is a way of course, the UT way! ...

I've read that there is already a beta 4 patch out, and that it's the best thus far.

The link I gave (two posts up) is patch-1 final. There were 3 beta versions of Patch-1 that I've heard about, except the beta-2 version and Beta-3 version of patch-1 were only sent to commercial servers.

I've been playing the crap out of the demo. I really shouldn't add another time sink to my repertoire, though I want to. I'd probably think differently if the game were on Steam.

sorry guys, still a noob at online play....whats the difference between a normal server and a dedicated server??? thnx for ne help!!

...whats the difference between a normal server and a dedicated server???

In UT3 (like UT2k4 and 2k3), the server can be of two types: Listen Server (Allows you to host a game on your PC in which you - the host - can also play); Dedicated Server (either the dedicated server package used by commercial UT servers where clans rent server space by the number and by the types of available slots, or using your retail UT3 package to host a game in which the host cannot play but acts as a server). If you only want to see dedicated servers in the list, you must check the Dedicated server box in the multiplayer options menu.

UT3 also introduces the notion of "Pure Server" where a pure server is one where no modifications are applied (e.g. a server like :TsT: is not listed as a Pure server because we set the mutators to be Instagib and No Translocators...). To see these servers in the listing, you must uncheck the Pure Server box in the multiplayer options menu.
