Crysis 64bit

Anyone else having problems with running this game in 64b? When loading it just hangs, DVDROM light does not even blink. Vista says there is a problem loading game. I have even adjusted the full screen mode, and also lowered the graphics from very high, to just high, which I shouldn't have to since I seem to believe my rig is capable of handling this game. I also installed the last NVidia drivers, and even reverted back to the last drivers, and still no go on 64.
Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I am not overclocking.

Thanks.

Re: Crysis 64bit

Negative... I installed it and ran it first time through w/o any issues. I just made sure I added a shortcut to my desktop that pointed to the bin64 folder instead. Even still, the 32-bit program ran fine for me as well. Have you had any other issues with running games?

Re: Crysis 64bit

Yes as of matter of fact, I loaded GRAW and could not launch this from the games folder, same with Crysis. I even clicked "Run as Admin" and nothing. However, if I open my "C" drive, and launch it from the DVD, it will load. I did in fact add the 64exe to my desktop, and tried to install, still no luck. I having no luck finding out why my games do not launch in game's folder.

Just gotta give MS some time to fix issues with Vista, but I have been running this for 6 months and I like it...

Re: Crysis 64bit

Well I don't think its a vista "issue" per say. If that was the case I think we'd here more people not being able to run it in x64. Have you tried a fresh install with all the latest drivers and direct x?

Re: Crysis 64bit

Mine ran out of the box. When I tried to run from the 64bit icon it crashed. How do you check if you are running the 64bit when in game. I run from the games menu with no problems. If it is the 32bit then it runs fast. I think the icon in the game directory detects what os you have and runs the app associated. Any feedback would be a great help.

Re: Crysis 64bit

Crysis wont run from the Desktop icons I created from the C/crysis/64 bin etc.

I had to pin it to the start menu so I dont have to run through the files everytime.

It doesnt matter which 32 or 4 bit icons you place on Desktop they all hang and fail to run!

What is the reason no Desktop icons are created in 64 bit vista?

Re: Crysis 64bit

Well there was no icon created on the desktop for me either. I made a shortcut to go to

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin64\Crysis.exe"

No issues since day 1 install

Guys, Crysis was specifically made for Vista / DX10. Please hit START, GAMES, right click on CRYSIS, and launch DX10.

It will run the 64 bit version natively. Works like a charm.

No "hacks" or desktop icons needed.

Cheers.

Re: Crysis 64bit

I'm having the same problem as Darkman. Whenever I try to start the game, I get the Vista "Program has stopped working" message. I have absolutely no idea why. The only time I get further is when I click on that small Crysis 64-bit icon in the bin64 folder. Then I see "Crysis DX10" on the start bar and a black rectangle in the middle of my screen, immediately followed by a crash notification.

Re: Crysis 64bit

Did you try my solution above? I had the same issue trying to start it from an icon or from the file in the main folder.

When I go to WINDOWS GAMES, the actual games launcher, it works fine.
